MosaicIt! Mosaic Bases

These surfaces, especially designed for mosaic art are created from 3/4" MDF, the preferred substrate for mosaic artists. In order to provide a flush front surface, the mirror has been placed on the surface of the MDF. This not only provides a smooth surface but also creates more useable mirror surface. UPDATE: We initially, embedded the mirror in the front as a shipping safety measure, but we have determined we can just as easily and safely ship the mirror with the mirror fixed onto the front. This creates a surface that is even more flush with the finished mosaic as before.

We recommend covering the mirror with painter's low-tack tape to protect it while applying your tesserae.
